When we started Dr. Collectors 8 years ago, our main focus was to build a unique clothing brand that embodied our love for California, the place we have chosen to reside for the last 15 years of our lives.
Based on our previous experience with our first brick and mortar store in the South of France in the 80's, we never intended to open a retail store again. The effort involved in running our own store was too much of a burden for us. Our original location was run by me (Olivier) and my life partner Beatrice and sold sold-out Levi's, vintage military clothing and other vintage goods. Today, we incorporate these things into the Dr. Collectors brand by running a small family business that creates and does what we love day in and day out.
Our son, Teddy Grasset, always pushed us to open another store and envisioned Dr. Collectors to be a globally recognized brand. As we continued to settle for having a clothing brand that only sold online and sold wholesale to various retailers around the world, Teddy's desire to open a brick-and-mortar store only grew as the brand gained traction. Eventually, we gave in (as most parents do) and decided to open a new concept: the Trading Post Gallery.
We combine the Dr. Collectors brand with our love of Native American culture, Japanese aesthetics, vintage finds, the Parisian lifestyle and of course indigo, which is a staple of the brand. This is our perfect combination of all the things we love that are deeply rooted in our DNA.
