This icon of cashmere knitters from Prato has been around for many years,
made in Italy.
The cashmere goats live at an altitude of over 4000 meters and shed their fur in spring.
And it is painstakingly collected, cleaned, combed and transported in the mountains.
It's a long way to Prato, Italy, but well worth it!
In general, a cashmere goat produces very little fine downy hair, the male animal about 150g - 200g, the female animal only 100g per year.
An annual production of 4 - 6 cashmere goats is needed to make a sweater,
for a cardigan even an annual production of 20 animals.
All these efforts - the creativity of the makers, the love for a unique natural product - make it an unrivaled garment.
make it an unrivaled piece of clothing!
Mille grazie.
