THE ORIGINAL PLAYBOY x Steve McQueen Chukka in Black 42
The Original Playboy:
The iconic Hollywood actor Steve McQueen has a special place in our brand legacy as he wore Original Playboys both privately and on screen in the 1950s and well into the 1970s. We are proud to continue the shared story in our collaboration with his son, Chad McQueen.
Original Playboys have been worn by a host of interesting people through the times, but none have had a more lasting impact on our brand’s history than the renowned Hollywood actor Steve McQueen, who wore Original Playboys both on and off screen from the 1950s and well into the 1970s.
Steve McQueen, born in 1930, rose to fame in the late 1950s and became the world’s highest-paid actor for his roles in films such as ’The Great Escape’ (1963), ’The Thomas Crown Affair’ (1968), ’Bullitt’ (1968), and ’Le Mans’ (1971).
In his iconic role as Police Detective Frank Bullitt in the movie ’Bullitt’, featuring one of the most famous car chases in film history, McQueen epitomizes his ’King of cool’ style in a brown herringbone tweed jacket, a navy blue cashmere turtleneck, charcoal trousers, and his signature tan suede Original Playboy chukka boots.
As a tribute to Steve McQueen, and to honour his part in our story, we have proudly collaborated with his family since 2021
The Original Playboy x Steve McQueen chukka is launched in cognac, dark brown, and black hunting suede. It features McQueen’s signage embossed on the side, his name on the back of the boots, and his emblem printed inside the leather lining. Also, the chukka boots come in a special shoe box with the actor’s photo printed on the lid.
The chukka boots are expected to be available in our webshop and in selected stores around the world in late summer 2024. You can sign up for an email notification for when they arrive.
